Hello :)

This week I was reading about Feedback. While learning about feedback I read from two different articles.

The first one I read was "Why rejection hurts so much" (https://ideas.ted.com/why-rejection-hurts-so-much-and-what-to-do-about-it/).  I really enjoyed reading this because it explained different things to do with rejection and feedback but also how to take feedback. One part of the article stood out was "zero tolerance for self-criticism|". I really liked the part of rather than thinking about the feedback negatively looking at it at a positive view of 'what could I better next time." I personally find this a lot more helpful to think in because I think I'm probably the worse person to take criticism to heart. I find it so hard to hear someone say my work is bad after I put in so much effort to it.

The second article I read was "Seven ways to Crush Self-Doubt in Creative Work" (https://ideas.ted.com/why-rejection-hurts-so-much-and-what-to-do-about-it/). This is article was up there with one of the best thing's I have ever read. I found this so much more helpful than anything I have read before. The first article was DON'T COMPARE YOURSELF TO OTHERS! This first one is the thing I am best at, I always compare my work to everything and anything.  Apart of this paragraph was "You start seeing others as competition rather than community. You get jealous when other people get opportunities you didn’t get. " Which I find to be very true, a lot of people do tend to fall into a competitive mode for doing certain pieces of work.

I know for many years in secondary school I HATED feedback because I felt like it was just because the teacher wanted me to drop to ordinary level but it was for me to improve- I did try improve with the feedback but it was very annoyed about it. Again I do take feedback to heart I try not to but I am just an over sensitive person. But saying that since college I have made room for feedback. An example in my photography module I had to welcome feedback I needed to in order to do well in it. At first I really didn't appreciate the feedback given but when i did welcome it and actually did listen my final projects ended up being perfect!
