The game design operates within the physical and mental constraints of a human. So in turn it pays to understand these constraints to build into different designs. 


Social Groups

A group is a collection of people brought together to share a task or interest. Groups contain multiple overlapping individual networks. The performance of the group as a whole is dependant on how to friendship is across the entire group.









The whole idea about this concept is it discovers the social psychology place hard limits on the types on social games that can be built. 

Friendship research shows meaningful in game relationships that require conditions such as proximity and similarity etc.

Social groups research shows the need for increasingly complex support structures as a group grows.


The best practice for building a multiplayer game is build a game for smaller cohorts. curster players into a persistent high density cohorts. Encourage high concurrency events and aim for a long term engagement. Also attract existing friends to the games.
